The Venice meeting is over, unfortunately. It was a great success for the organizers and for all the participants. We thank the organizers and the congress bureau once again for all they did for us! The support we got from the secretariat, and the outstanding lunches made the days easy and pleasant. Thanks to the manufacturers for providing equipment for the demonstrations. And, what a wonderful location!

The Course brought some updates, i.e. known material for some, news for others, but for all of us something useful to bring home for contemplation and hopefully for some implementation. The Demos were appreciated by the participants it seems, but stressful for some demonstrators, since the Scuola Grande of San Giovanni Evangelista was built before we had 50Hz.

The conference gave us excellent presentations on the latest in EMG quantitation, neuromuscular transmission and other "classical" topics. A profile from this meeting was that we broadened the scope of our field with lectures and demonstrations on the use of ultrasound for nerve and muscle studies. This is now a well documented method that complements EMG and nerve conduction studies in a very important way, a new dimension. We have new tools for improved diagnosis and for better understanding of the abnormality we see in our conventional methods.

Social activities with tours of the Basilica at San Marco, and a fantastic gala dinner in Casanova´s place, were other highlights. This part of a meeting turns out to be of great value, perhaps even more than we realize in real time. We learn to know each other, we chat about small and large things, and build the important personal network we later can refer to.

Thanks to the faculty and speakers for a great input, and thanks to ALL for having contributed with your presence, knowledge and friendship!
